Buddhism, which served as the dominant ideology in Korea for nearly a thousand years, existed not only in the abstract form of faith and ideas but also as concrete entities in the form of monks and temples and realistic regulations in the form of laws and institutions.
In this lecture we will explore the activities and status of Buddhist monks and temples in Korean history through concrete examples and legal regulations to gain a deeper understanding of the Buddhist elements that were closely related to Korean society.
